Delightful newcomer Gabrielle Marion–Rivard, who actually has Williams syndrome and plays a semi-autobiographical role, is a natural and superb theater actor Alexandre Landry, who plays her lover, is equally beguiling.
As I read the review above and its outline of the story it resonated with my hopes and fears fro Linda. I want her to be happy and I would love for her to be fulfulled. I know how fulfilling a relationship can be but….
But… can she handle a relationship? Could she handle a relationship that is potentially physical? She is so vulnerable and would be open to all sorts of abuse by the “wrong” person.
One of Linda’s recurring desires is to get married and have a baby. There is no way she is able to look after a baby, but does that give us a right to stop her having a relationship?
I don’t know.
But I do know this film is getting a lot of plaudits and prizes and this film asks the same questions:
