Wonderful Williams Syndrome Words

Stone with a feather paintingTonight we were doing the washing up and Linda was watching birds in the garden as she wiped a glass with the tea towel.

And there it was again.

Another example of that wonderful turn of phrase that Williams Syndrome adults are so reknowned for… as she exclaimed: “Well stone me, with a feather!”.

I’m still not quite sure what she meant as it took a few minutes for the giggles to subside…

By the time I caught up with her the bird had long since flown off and the moment passed.

Williams people have that lovely rich vocabulary, they say things fluently and with confidence, but it doesn’t always make sense in quite the same way… and it was beyond me to explain why this is inappropriate so we just laughed together – I think she was happy!
